The value for money at this hotel was outstanding, with spacious and well-furnished rooms that were kept impeccably clean. The location was perfect, with easy access to both the Bund and the old town, and the staff provided excellent service and spoke fluent English. Highly recommended!
The breakfast menu could use some improvement in terms of variety and options.

During our two-week stay in Shanghai, we booked Riverview Hotel On The Bund twice. It's perfectly located, just a 5-minute walk from the old town and the famous fabric market. The hotel is situated on Zhongshan Road, the main road running along the river. From here, you can easily walk to the illuminated beauty of the Bund on your left, or the impressive skyscrapers of Pudong on your right. The staff, who speak good English, provided excellent concierge service, helping us find everything we needed. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and clean, and the room service options seem endless. Highly recommended!
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Hotel was clean
Situated next to a building site with rubble as the main view from the window - river view if leaning out of window at 45 degree angle. Unfriendly reception staff sitting behind imposing desks, no wifi anywhere in hotel. Bizarre room design, tiny wardrobe, air conditioning we could not work, very hard bed. Price list for everything in guest folder I.E. bed, table furnishing etc. Not allowed to check out until housekeeping ensured nothing stolen. All in all a horrid hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, as it was right by the riverside and in close proximity to all the popular tourist areas. This made it very convenient for us to explore the city and enjoy the beautiful views of the river. The staff here were exceptional, always going above and beyond to assist us. We were pleasantly surprised by their excellent English skills, which was a refreshing change from some of the other hotels we had stayed in. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. The hotel also offered a range of amenities, including room service, laundry facilities, and a well-stocked mini-bar. we highly recommend this place to our friends.
In terms of cons, there were minor issues like the room being a bit dark and some problems with the electrical plugs. However, these concerns were quickly resolved by the helpful staff at reception.

The stay was very nice, staff was always on top of things we required during our stay, the location was excellent in downtown Shanghai.
The only downside was that since location was in downtown, construction is going on everywhere around the hotel because the city is growing so location can only get better.

The room was spacious and extremely clean. The interior of the hotel is very luxurious and elegant. The bellmen were polite and helpful.
The hotel itself is a lovely place, however the hotel staff (front desk, concierge, telephone operator etc.) were not helpful at all. Almost all of the staff did not understand English for most part and some even hang up when they did not understand what I was saying on the phone which was unacceptably unprofessional and rude. The front desk staff at check-in/check-out were unwelcoming nor polite. You wonder who the customer is, me or the receptionist? The money exchange service they had at the hotel also had very poor performance. I was able to exchange money, however I was not provided with a receipt of any kind. When I asked, the money exchange guy told me I needed passport in an irritated attitude. Overall, I did not appreciate the snobby rude attitude of the hotel staff.
